Union Public Service Commission ESE Selection Process
The candidates would be selected on the basis of their performances in the UPSC ESE Part I and Part II examination. Both the scores would be merged together and the overall performance of the candidate would be judged by a group of experts. However, there may be a certain occasion where a candidate who has a score lower than the other gets selected for the post. This mainly happens due to quota or reservation system. Union Public Service Commission ESE Exam Pattern
The exam pattern for ESE Exam consists of two parts. Part I consists of a Written Examination and Part II consists of a Personality Test.
UPSC ESE Part I- Written Examination
The first screening of candidates is done through a written examination where candidates are required to attend objective type papers as well as conventional type papers. The objective type paper consists of 3 different papers, each having a full marks of 200 and a duration of 2 hours each. On the other hand, the conventional type paper consists of 2 papers, each having a full marks of 300 marks and a duration of 3 hours each. UPSC ESE Part II- Personality Test
Candidates who have cleared in UPSS ESE Exam Part I, would be called for a personality test. The way of intimation would remain the same for candidates, that is, they would be again required to download their admit card for Part II Examination from the UPSC website and follow the directions.
